One of the Academy’s principal missions is to provide first-rate continuing education for lawyer mediators. Each year the education committee plans at least one CLE activity meeting the standards for qualification under Iowa Court Rule 42.2 (2008). These conferences and seminars are held regionally, led by experienced mediators and educators on topics that are timely and informative for the practitioner.
We were pleased to host Doug Noll November 2, 2011 at the Stoney Creek Inn in Johnston, Iowa for his presentation "Micro-Interventions in Mediation-Understanding and Dealing with Emotions, Strong Personalities, Beliefs, and Biases." If you missed the event you can still review Doug's suggested reading list which is posted on the Articles page.
Our education committee, chaired by Tom Drew, is already planning for a seminar that will be held Thursday September 13 - Friday September 14, 2012 at the Sheraton Iowa City. The timing of this event aligns with the Iowa Hawkeye vs. Northern Iowa football game being held on Saturday. More details to be posted soon. We hope to see you there! For further information on past seminars click the link below.
